Review: Song of Blood & Stone by L. Penelope

Song of Blood & Stone (Earthsinger Chronicles, #1)Song of Blood & Stone by L. Penelope
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

A well woven, melodic journey of epic proportions. This is high romance. Everything a Fantasy Romance fan could ask for, you will find in this book. We are knocked out by how completely lovely and delicious this story is. L. Penelope ever so delicately spins a tale that is intriguing, romantic, and so hard to put down that this reader might have skipped a few meals, and considered (I say considered) calling in sick from work to finish. You will love Jasminda and Jack's story.

Recommended for Fantasy Romance fans that love a well told yarn, with a compelling romance at the center.

REVIEW: The Swede by Maureen Smith

The Swede (Denver Rebels Book 2)The Swede by Maureen Smith
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Can you say Hawt?! We were fanning ourselves while reading The Swede , by Maureen Smith. This story checked all the boxes for a great contemporary romance read. Awesome larger than life male lead? Yes please! Strong, independent and completely original female lead? Absolutely. Indie Rocker meets Swedish hockey player. You don't need to be a sports fan to love this book. This story has great chemistry, just enough romance, and some unforgettable characters.

This is a great series, and The Swede is our favorite book so far. Recommended for readers that like hot, sexy stories with the right balance of romance to heat, and well developed main characters.

REVIEW: Pico's Crush by Carol Van Natta

Pico's Crush (Central Galactic Concordance, #3)Pico's Crush by Carol Van Natta
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

An engrossing sci-fi adventure with a sprinkle of romance. This is a well paced, carefully written, story, that will pull you into a world that you won't be able to get enough of. Leans more on the science fiction side than the romance side, but still comes off well rounded, and truly entertaining. There's an added bonus of being able to revisit characters from previous books in the series, and also an expansion of the series plot line that began in the first book.

Recommended for sci-fi fans that enjoy, well written, interesting stories, with strong, and diverse main characters.
